FIND YOUR NEXT POSITION
We introduce candidates to private families across New York City and the Tri-State Area.
There is never a fee for candidates.
Mayfair Placement Agency introduces candidates to private clients for household positions. We ask about your experience, availability, and the type of position you are seeking. When appropriate, your information may be referred to clients for consideration. Each client interviews and evaluates candidates and makes all hiring decisions directly. Compensation, schedule, duties, benefits, and other employment terms are determined directly between the client and candidate.
OUR PLACEMENT PROCESS
Apply With Mayfair
Email your resume and related information to jobs@mayfairplacement.com, or visit our office Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to complete an application.
If applying in person, please bring your resume, photo identification, proof of mailing address, reference contact information, and any recommendation letters from previous employers. If the position includes driving, please also provide a valid driver’s license.
Introducing You to Clients
After collecting and reviewing the job-related information you provide, we may consider you for positions based on the type of work you are seeking, your experience, availability, and preferences. We may introduce you to clients whose requirements appear to be a possible match. Each client reviews your information and decides whom to interview and hire.
Scheduling Interviews
Once a client agrees to interview you, we coordinate the interview time and details. During the interview process, please direct any questions or changes involving pay, schedule, duties, start date, or other job terms through Mayfair rather than arranging them privately with the client. After the interview, we communicate with you and the client regarding the next steps.
Coordinating Trial Period
After the interview, if the client decides to move forward, we coordinate the trial schedule and details. Trial pay is paid directly to you by the client. During the trial, please continue to direct any questions or changes involving the position through Mayfair.
Deciding to Move Forward
At the end of the trial, both you and the client let us know if you would like to move forward. If you both decide to proceed, you continue into the regular position based on the arrangements you and the client agree to. Your employment is directly with the client who hires you. Mayfair provides referral and placement services and is not your employer.
Providing Ongoing Support
After you start, you are welcome to contact us with questions related to your placement. For routine day-to-day matters, we encourage you to speak directly with your employer. For more significant placement-related concerns, such as substantial changes to your duties, schedule, or other agreed job terms, please contact us so we can help facilitate communication between you and the client.
REQUIREMENTS
- Prior & Relevant Experience
Many clients seek candidates with prior relevant experience and prior-employment reference information. The type and availability of reference information may vary depending on the candidate’s work history and circumstances, as well as the location, position, and the client’s needs.
- Work References
Candidates with prior work experience are asked to provide reference information from previous employers, along with information about their prior duties and employment. References may be contacted regarding prior employment information and work experience.
- Recommendation Letter
A recommendation letter from a previous employer is helpful but not required unless requested for a particular position.
